Chuck-E-Cheese

Well, I did it again.. I took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese. :) And again, it was fun! They have changed since the last time we went - they remodeled the play area again. The first thing we did was play Skee-ball. I love Skee-ball, so I got to play too! Joy. :)

After that Conor and I just went around and played various games, while the girls went off on their own and did the same. Conor wanted to ride their simulated roller coaster machine, so Allie road it with him. Here they are on the "ride" - the entire machine moved with the screen to go down hills and curves:

Conor held on tight...

He was scared, and Allie was having a blast!

When Conor got off, Ceara joined Allie for another ride...

Ceara is helping Conor punch the poor little duckies on this one.

Conor absolutely loved shooting the bad guys on this machine. You had to "shoot" off screen to reload, and he got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Then he let Allie do the shooting.
We ate pizza in between all the game playing and after all our tokens ran out (100 of them!) Conor picked out his prizes. He got a ball for himself and a stamp ring for Carley - his girlfriend at the sitter's house. It's so cute how he always thinks of Carley. After we left, we went to The Dairy Queen and got some ice cream.
Oh, and again, I have not edited the pictures to remove the date. :) We did not go in January, it was sometime in May... lol

Summer Fun

Jeff took the summer off from his college classes, so every Wednesday, he has kept Conor home with him and they do fun stuff. Some male bonding, I guess. :) The first two weeks he had with no classes or homework, he and Conor packed up the truck on Tuesday night when he returned from work and went off camping.

Then they went to the Cincinnati Zoo. Jeff took my camera along and took some of the normal pictures of all the animals they saw, but I am only putting the ones with Conor on here. :)

I'm not sure if this picture was taken upon arrival to the zoo or not - Conor is not looking real happy and since it was one of the last ones in the order of the pictures, I think it was when they were leaving and he was tired. Also, I just noticed when I was putting them on here that the date on the pictures say 01/28/03 - NOT the correct date as this was in May of 07. lol (Guess I need to check out my camera and find out why it's showing the wrong date!)

Visiting the bears:

Here Conor was posing for a picture when a big Polar Bear walked up behind him! He escaped harm because it seems the bear is just wanted his picture taken. Quite a ham, despite not being a pig. ;)

Here Conor narrowly escaped the jaws of a crocodile - I can't believe Jeff took the time to take a picture before saving my baby! :)

Here Conor caught a ride on the back of a momma Gorilla with her baby:

And I had to include a shot of Conor's absolute favorite animal - the Tiger. Although Conor prefers white Tigers now, he still loves the Bengal Tiger, also.

Jeff just told me that I should have edited all the pictures and removed the date from them since it is incorrect. I explained to him that I noted in the writing part that the date is incorrect, but he still says I'm going to have a "tard" blog because I do not want to go back and edit all the pictures. Oh, well. It's my blog and I will do it how I want to! :)
I have many, many more pictures to post, so you might get more than one post today!

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! Conor served me breakfast in bed - he carried it all into my room, set it on a tray next to my bed and called me "Your maj-ist-dy." SO CUTE! :) Carrying one plate at a time, he served me bacon, eggs, hash browns, toast, and pancakes.

THEN! He brought me two gifts - one is a plant he made out of construction paper and a cup, and the other is an audio book by one of my favorite authors! :) Joy!

My daughter had chosen to spend the night at her friends house, so she was volunteered to do the clean up in the kitchen when she returned. :) She also gave me a DVD "Catch and Release."

Conor and I then went to the Mother's Day lunch at my aunt's house where all the men cook. It was wonderful. So, I had a very good Mother's Day!

Happy Birthday Charlie

Monday, May 14th is Charlie's Birthday. He would have been 22 years old. I recently took some VHS home movie tapes of Charlie and converted them to DVD and have been trying to make a suitable cover for the DVD case. Here is what I have done so far:
I'm not sure if I am satisfied with it or not, I may keep working on it.

Below are some pictures of Charlie with his girlfriend, Tiffany, and some friends. I got the pictures from Tiffany's site.

Happy Birthday, Charlie.. we all miss you very much!

Funny Ad

Mother of the year... NOT

Well, the other day Conor was doing flips on our bed, showing off how talented he is... one of his landings was not exactly a good one and he hit the back of his head on the foot board of the bed. Of course Jeff and I both rushed over to look at it, I was holding him, rubbing the back of his head and I said, "We should get you some medicine, it will make you feel worse."

Yeah, ummm, I really did mean to say better.. and I have no clue why I would have said that! So, Jeff gave me a really odd look and smacked my shoulder (as if to say "What is wrong with you, telling him that??"), so I tried to correct myself...

"I mean better. Medicine will make you feel better!"

Then I realized what I had said and I started laughing.

So, yeah... while Conor sat there with tears streaming down his face, I was laughing... I could not stop. Bad, bad, bad Mommy. Jeff just looked at me as if I had lost my mind.

The Mommy Test

Ok, I got this in an email.. and it was sooooo funny, I had to post it. :)

The Mommy Test

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty and probably has germs" I replied.

At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Mommy, how do you know all this stuff? You are so smart."

I was thinking quickly. "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mommy Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mommy."

We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information.

"OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the daddy."

"Exactly" I replied back with a big smile on my face.

OK, so.. I know that there are so many wonderful daddys out there.. and this isn't really true.. but admit it.. it is FUNNY! :)

Shopping with Conor

Well, we had a most interesting time grocery shopping last night. Conor, Ceara, and I went (Allie was at track) and when we got there the cart person was gathering carts right in the middle of the isle where I chose to park. So.. I sat there, thinking she would go around me, but.. she just sat there too. We finally got past each other after a few minutes and Conor said, "Tell her she was in your way."

"Nah.. no big deal."

So.. we get out of the car and are walking towards the door and we pass the cart lady. So, Conor decided to tell her himself. "Hey, you were in our way!"

I grabbed his hand and just walked by.. Ceara and I were both cracking up.

Next stop, strawberries... we chose 2 containers - Ceara picked up one, I picked up another. Conor wanted a different one, so I took his and gave him mine to put back. Ceara pointed out that the ones I chose were redder - so he changed his mind and put his box back. "We can just get these next time."

A woman in red scrubs was getting strawberries too, and she laughed at that. Then I asked Conor if he wanted some bananas. "Yeah, but not the green ones, I want the yellow ones." I grabbed a bunch of them and he said, "No, not those, these." The red scrubs lady was there at that moment too, and she laughed again.

So.. we move onto the bread.. same lady there and Conor said, "This is taking FOREVER!"

I was laughing as much as the lady was.. he was being comical. The very best part though was when we were walking down an isle and the voice over the speaker said, "Are you looking to innovate your Spring?"

Conor replied very loudly, "No! We're looking for cookies!" I don't think he realizes that we never got any..... :)
